This beautiful hand-crafted stoneware pot is manufactured in Germany. Decorated and designed for use in making the Rumtopf traditional German holiday treat. Originally, the Rumtopf jar preserved summer fruits for consumption during the winter. Fruits were picked at their peak from late spring until early autumn, fermented in rum in the Rumtopf crock for several more months, and then enjoyed through the holidays into the New Year.
