The Marga Mulino will produce coarse flour out of any dry seed or legume: wheat, rye, barley, buckwheat, corn, rice, millet, soy, beans, peas, alfalfa, and more. Additional passes through the roller will result in finer flour.
The machine structure is made of chrome-plated
steel while the rollers are made of light alloy(aluminum). The hopper and the
collecting basin are made of plastic for foodstuffs. The roller drive gears
are heat-treated so as to guarantee better operation and longer life.
Where the Marga Mulino really shines, though, is in its role as a grain flaker (also called an ‘oat roller’, since grain flakers are most commonly used to roll oats). If you've never tried oatmeal made with freshly rolled oats, you're in for a treat! Store-bought oats have been steamed to increase their shelf life, a process which destroys the grains' enzymes and oils. Whatever nutrition and flavor is left rapidly oxidizes on the store shelf. No wonder they taste like cardboard! Oatmeal from freshly rolled oats is rich, creamy and naturally delicious! The Marga Mulino has settings for producing both thick and thin flakes. A quick turn of the adjustment knob is all that's needed to switch from grinding flour to flaking.
Its use is very simple and its function is described as follows. Marga Mulino functions through the use of three special rollers which turn at differentiated speeds. These rollers are operated by the handle. The distance between the rollers can be regulated by use of the regulating knob which has 3 positions.
The locking clamp and the control handle (color of handle is actually black, not white as per the image) are made of chrome-plated steel
and shockproof plastic. A brush is provided with the machine for cleaning
it. A special wonden sieve may also be bought separately for fitting in the
plastic collecting basin so as to separate the flour from the bran. The machine is packed in a screen-printed cardboard box wich also contains the instructions for use.
